Can you tell us a little about your space and what drew you to this new Sunwood colour?
Our master en-suite is a bright spacious bathroom with a classic contemporary look mixing traditional solid oak & modern brass hardware. It also features beautifully intricate yet delicate wallpaper enhancing the feeling of class. This room also boasts large traditional sliding sash windows. We didn’t want to use frosted glass and take from the traditional look of our home, but we also wanted to find a window treatment that would enhance the look of our beautiful white Woodgrain sliding sash windows yet give us privacy when needed.
How are you finding the blinds now that they’re part of your everyday space?
Our Sunwood Venetian Blinds have not only given us privacy when needed but they have also enhanced the luxurious feeling of our master en-suite. In an instant we have a light filled room and with one pull of a string we have complete privacy. These blinds have added such a beautiful touch to finish off our space.
Before this new shade, how did light and privacy play-or misplay-in that room, and how has that changed since installing the new venetian blinds?
We absolutely adore our very large sliding sash windows throughout our home, but with light comes lack of privacy. This is where Sunwood Blinds have completely made this master en-suite useable at any stage of the day or night.
Would you recommend the new Sunwood wood Venetian colour range to others? What advice would you give to those choosing a finish?
We chose the Koa 50mm white woodgrain Venetian Blind and it sits perfectly with our white woodgrain windows, we also have window boxes to enhance the window and it really feels like the Venetian Blind was made to fit the space perfectly. A marriage of the two is the perfect combination for a classic contemporary look.
Any “insider moments” you’d let our readers in on—styling, maintenance, or lighting tricks that elevate the look?
I personally love the look of the Venetian Blind when it’s drawn down but the slats are horizontal (open) this gives a stunning flow of light through the room, yet also gives a certain amount of privacy at the same time. These blinds are so easy clean, with a light dust with a feather duster they are kept pristine.
